Is Stainless Steel Recyclable?
The answer is yes, and there are several benefits to recycling stainless steel. As a popular material for manufacturing and construction, the demand for it is always high. However, the energy and materials needed to make new stainless steel to keep up with demand harm the already fragile environment.
Recycling the material saves resources because much less energy is needed to create new material. Reprocessing does not cause the metal to degrade. In fact, it is possible to make essentially new stainless steel from 100 percent recycled stainless steel.
This metal is, by design, incredibly durable. Because of its durability, the material may last for decades before it needs to be recycled. The recovery cycle can take place several times before the metal has reached the end of its usefulness.
An additional benefit to stainless steel recycling is you can earn money as you help the environment. It is an absolute win-win.

- 316 Scrap- A higher grade of stainless steel, 316 scrap has a composition of 18% chromium, 10% nickel, and 2.5% molybdenum. The addition of molybdenum makes 316 more resistant to corrosion. Both 304 and 316 stainless steel are of good quality.
